At Sunday's 53rd Grammy Awards, Usher will be pulling double duty as both a nominee and a performer. Of course, given the massive year he just completed — with the success of his smash single "O.M.G" and as a mentor to rising phenom Justin Bieber — Ush's Grammy plans seem rather fitting.
Especially since he'll be performing with Bieber (and Bieber's pal Jaden Smith), a move that's just as much about celebrating Usher's successes as it is the successes of his young protégé.
"Having been through [the Grammys] so many times, you couldn't want for anything more than for your young protégé to have the opportunity to have one, so, in support of him having his moment, I wanted to be here," Usher told MTV News on Thursday, hours before his performance at the (Belvedere) RED launch party in Hollywood. "And also to be there to perform, to kind of tell the story of how we came together. This music business has definitely been good to both of us, and this year we have a lot to be happy for."
And just how will the dynamic duo tell that story? Well, Usher wasn't about to reveal all the details, but he did say that he's hoping their performance will show another side of Bieber ... a side most tend to overlook.
"The performance will be fun," Usher explained. "We want to get up there and just do what we do. Be comfortable, and have a great time. ... This is kind of a crossover for Justin. Having performed on so many different stages, this is the way that I wanted him to be seen and an opportunity to show the industry — a lot of the industry, that didn't believe [in him] — some of his other talents. He's going to play acoustically, and also, we'll get down a little bit."
And though Ush is up for a pair of Grammy awards on Sunday — Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best Contemporary R&B Album for Raymond v. Raymond — he's most looking forward to sharing the stage with Bieber and giving fans a look at where the young artist will be heading next.
"I'm very proud, man. I definitely saw it from the beginning, but thanks to the team that we have around us, it was made to happen. And that story has only just begun," Usher said. "The story of Justin Bieber doesn't stop with screaming girls; we need screaming fans all around the world ... a cultural experience that's much more than just fanfare. And that's what this is. That's what the Grammys will be; that's what my next phase for Justin is. This is the way I found him: I found him with a guitar in his hand, so I want him to be seen that way."

"One Less Lonely Girl" lacquers will be reshipping to retailers around the world, including Walmart, ULTA, Target and Sears in the USA. Walgreens, and Claire's will also be selling the collection.
The "One Less Lonely Girl Collection" was conceived to raise awareness for Pencils of Promise, an organization close to Justin's heart that builds sustainable schools for underserved children in the developing world. In addition to educating consumers about this non-profit, Nicole by OPI has committed to building two such schools.
But before you hyperventilate too much Beliebers, don't worry as it was all for a sketch and Justin is still with his famous head of hair.
JB was a guest on Thursday's episode of the show and Jimmy revealed he's run a Twitter competition for fans to suggest the title of a duet between him and the One Time star.
One suggestion was Jimmy Cuts Justin's Hair and Jimmy said: "I was thinking instead of us singing the song it would be fun if I actually did cut your hair."
Jimmy stood behind Justin with a pair of scissors and the Baby singer yelped: "Did you actually take some off?!"
The pair then decided it would be more fun to shave Justin's entire head. Eek!
After the commercial break, Justin was seen wearing a skin coloured cap, suggesting they'd shaved his head. Jimmy joked: "Maybe people will stop focusing on your hair now.”
Justin quipped: "They'll just focus on my beautiful, silky-smooth vocals!"
Of his drastic new look, Justin joked: "I think the girls will be upset but they'll get over it!"
Justin Bieber is ready to buy a house.
The 16-year-old Canadian singing sensation lives with his mother Patti and grandparents when he isn’t working but is now ready to find a home of his own in Los Angeles.
“Justin is looking for a house,” his rep said. “But nothing has been purchased as of right now.”
Though the Baby hitmaker — who is worth an estimated $100 million — hasn’t made a bid for anything yet, he is said to have his eye on a $1.7 million apartment in Westwood, Los Angeles.
The upmarket property boasts four bedrooms and three bathrooms and is 2,400 sq ft.
The building housing the apartment boasts a ‘party’ room, as well as an indoor heated swimming pool and spa.
Meanwhile, Justin — who is rumored to be dating Selena Gomez — has thanked fans after he was nominated for two accolades at the forthcoming Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
“My life was changed by fans and by kids like me clicking on my videos and letting me chase a dream. Once again those same kids are there and I am forever grateful,” said the singer, who is in the running for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song for Baby.
“I’m excited and honored to be nominated for two Kids’ Choice Awards. I hope this encourages other kids to chase their dreams as well,”
Voting for the awards opens on March 7, with the winners revealed on April 2.
TMZ have also reported on this subject saying -"Sources connected with Justin tell TMZ ... Justin's mom and grandmother have been looking for a condo or home in the L.A. area, which they want to close before Justin's 17th birthday on March 1.
We're told the top contender so far -- a $1.7 million condo near the Westwood area of L.A.
Justin's grandma thinks the condo is perfect, but they're still looking.
The condo is 2,400 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
The owner is a model. Watch out ... Justin's a lady killer!"
